Isaquah 1st / Tiger Mountain Transfer 5 Week 2

hello!

this week has been such a good week! we had an apostle here and we got to meet him and hear from him which was awesome! we also saw many little tender mercies from the lord this week. this week was a really good finding week that was well needed.

this week we had a really neat miracle happen to us. it was friday night and we were with one of our recent converts and some people from our wards and we were feeding the hungry at the fire station here in town, when we were in the middle of serving the people we heard some one call out elders! we look up and we saw rob on of our recent converts! we were so excited because we had'nt seen rob in almost 2 months. i dont know if i have ever been so excited to see someone in my life! it was really neat because elder aiken and i had a really busy night that night and almost didnt go to feed the people but we felt like we needed to, because we followed to prompting to go god placed someone we had been hopping would come back in our path. we probably would have never seen him again if we wouldnt have gone to the firestation with the ward!

this week i learned alot about following the promptings of the spirit. elder oaks of the quorum of the 12 apostles and elder razband of the 70 came to our mission this week. it was amazing to be able to meet them and hear from true men of god. while they were hear it seemed they talked alot of having the courage and faith to act upon the promptings that you receive. sometimes they will be weird or you may be scared of what the outcome may be, but the promptings came from god and he will make all well. it was really neat to hear elder oaks talk about the importance of following those promptings and the miracles that can happen when we do follow them.

i hope you all have a great week and a great thanksgiving!

love you so much

Issaquah 1st / Tiger Mtn. Transfer 5 Week 1

hello!

this last week has been a fun week here! it has decided that it likes to hail now, so we have had two hail storms that were pretty crazy. i have never seen hail stick to the ground like snow, that makes walking up driveways and decks pretty interesting... there may have been an incedent or two with someone slipping down the stairs of a slippery deck coated in ice but no one was seriously injured so its all good!!

this week was transfers and elder aiken and i are staing in issaquah again! im excited and the wards were pretty happy that we didnt leave either!

this last sunday i had the opportunity to speak at a stake leadership training. it was a really neat experience because i have never been to one of them let alone had to speak there! things turned out great though. i was pretty proud of my self because i think it was the first talk that i did'nt talk really fast!!! elder aiken was asked to speak at the stake youth fireside that night and that was really good too. he spoke with a returned mission president and they talked to the youth about the best way to do missionary work is to have your own testimony of the gospel. i thought that was such a good point, if we dont have a testimony that the gospel is true how can we help others and tell them what we beleive when they ask us. it made me think of the change that i have had in my mission and that change happened when i had my own testimony and i had no doubt that this is true. when i knew that, missionary work changed and i think it does in everyones lives too. gaining our own testimony is probably the best thing we can do for ourselves and for others.

elder oaks comes this week and im so excited i can't wait for that!

life here is good though the sister missionaries are teaching someone in the library here right now. the person they are teaching lives in our area so i think we just got a new invesigator!! miracles happen!

love you all have a great week

Issaquah 1st / Tiger Mtn Transfer 4 Week 5

hola!

this week has been awesome!!! its been such an exciting and very humbling week. we were able to witness gods hand at work here in the issaquah 1st ward!!

it all started a few weeks ago when we set a goal with our ward council of 4 baptisms in October. we had only one baptism month to date, and it was now Tuesday on the last week and we didnt even have anyone on date! there was just about no hope for us to be able to reach our goal in the ward. then tuesday we stoped by a potential investigator we had found a few weeks back. she opened the door and we set an appointment for that night and we talked to her for a second, then she just started to cry and slammed the door... we didnt know what to do after that. so that night we came back and found out that she had started to cry because that morning she got on her knees and prayed to god and told him that she was done and needed a change. then we came. it was an amazing lesson and we put her ondate for november 19th! after we left we looked at each other and were like "what were we thinking, that is our three people we need this week!!!!" so we went to our appointment the next day and invited them to be baptized on sunday after church, and they said yes and were really excited for it!! we tough them 2 times a day for everyday until they were baptized, and their baptism was a very special one. we baptized all three of them and then lisa, a recent converts, daughter ( who is now a child of record) the ward loved it. it was a very neat experience to baptize and confirm 4 people right there!! the ward absolutely loves them and is excited for this great miracle to happen. it was so neat for us because i really learned the importance of relying upon the lord. we were in a situation where most people in the ward had given up and lost hope in our goal, but we kept praying and searching and god placed three perfectly prepared souls in our path that were just waiting to be baptized. god knows his children and he wants them to come back to him, because of that when people are ready for the gospel in their lives he will make it possible for them to receive the blessings of the restored gospel. we didnt really have much to do with these baptisms this weekend. they had been prepared by the hand of the lord and he placed them in our path to show them the way to find the changes and the happiness that they want in their lives. it was a really humbling experience to be able to see gods hand guiding our work so his will will be accomplished!

i love this work so much. i hope you all have a great week
